MEET WILL

Will Sussman is a lifelong Long Islander, engineer, and educator. He earned degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Yale and MIT, and today serves as an adjunct professor at Yeshiva University.

Will began his career as a unionized worker, where he saw firsthand how systems can fail the people they’re supposed to serve. Rather than accept the status quo, he took action—filing federal complaints with the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Will later joined the Manhattan Institute, focusing on issues that directly affect New Yorkers, including education, labor, and government accountability. He has become a leading voice against antisemitism, and has testified before Congress on the issue.

Will's writing has appeared in numerous outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, New York Post, The Free Press, and Newsday.

ON THE ISSUES

Affordability

Long Island families are being crushed by rising costs, high taxes, and Albany spending with no accountability. For too long, Albany has bailed out New York City on Long Island's dime — while our homeowners get priced out and our communities get nothing in return. Will Sussman will fight to end the blank checks to New York City unless they're tied to real tax relief for Long Islanders, reduce the tax burden, rein in wasteful government spending, and protect homeowners from being priced out of their communities.

Transparency

New Yorkers deserve a government that is honest, transparent, and accountable to the people it serves. Will Sussman supports rigorous oversight of state programs to restore public trust and ensure taxpayer money is spent responsibly. Every dollar wasted on mismanagement or fraud is a dollar not going to communities in need.

Public Safety

Every family deserves to feel safe at home, in school, and in their community. But Albany's reckless cashless bail law has put dangerous criminals back on the streets, tied judges' hands, and made shoplifting so common that everyday items are locked behind glass. Will Sussman will fight to repeal cashless bail, hire more police officers, and ensure that repeat and violent offenders are removed from our communities

Environment

Long Island must grow responsibly — protecting our coastline, investing in clean water infrastructure, and supporting smart development that preserves our suburban character. That's why Will supports transferring the Setauket–Port Jefferson Station Greenway to Suffolk County Parks, where it belongs — not handing it over to the state DOT. His opponent wrote the bill to do exactly that. We can protect what makes Long Island special without sacrificing jobs or affordability.
